Any BBQ joint with bars on the windows is promising to me! You walk in and get the feel that you've stepped into an old-timey BBQ joint with that retro feel. You feel like you're walking into a family reunion in Grandma's kitchen. The staff was courteous and service was quick. I got the rib end dinner with cornbread, coleslaw and marvelous greens.
Rib ends: gorgeous pieces of meat candy. Most of the pieces were tender chunks of fatty rib ends which you probably shouldn't disclose to your cardiologist. There were a few pieces that were dried out but I'm pretty forgiving. The portions were generous for $10 and pairs well with the sauce although you could do without it.
Cornbread: slightly sweet, fluffy buttery goodness. Personally I'd like some corn chunks in there
Marvelous greens: You have to get the greens. I saved them for the end. It's like a meal in itself. Savory with chunks of meat.
Cole slaw: nothing fancy. Perfect classic slaw. -

What a fun find! This is what I love about yelp. We never would have found this place without it.
When you show up, you will not be sure it's open. The metal bars on the outside don't say "welcome!" but the moment you walk in, you'll know you made the right choice.
Hubby and I split a 3 meat combo plate (with two sides). We got the ribs, rib ends, and brisket with corn & potato salad (Mac and cheese are only on certain days of the week). All of the meats were delicious! Corn was great. We both weren't huge fans of the potato salad, but maybe it's a personal preference.
The inside isn't the cleanest or newest and there are a ton of flies inside. But the feeling of the family owned business made it worth it! -

Directions at first made me think we must have been sent to wrong location but go just a little further and it is tucked in the middle of a apartment area. Definitely a local hole in the wall but soooo friendly and lady taking our order was a bubbly friendly lady. While standing in line asked a local for suggestion and she suggested ribs and chopped beef. I got 2 meat combo- ribs, chopped beef (so tender) with green beans (I don't normally order green beans out but these were down home cooked beans with onions in them) Mac n cheese and corn bread (good and moist) Husband got ribs, Cole slaw, potato salad and corn bread. Didn't disappoint! Don't be turned off by outside. When you see local people come in and the owners know what they want before they even order, that's a good sign.

Absolutely best brisket and sausage I've had in awhile. Great collard greens -- would definitely hit this place up for their side dishes! Loved the lemon cake as well. This atmosphere is casual and homey. The food speaks for itself, and the staff is extremely friendly and courteous. Also very impressed at the quickness of receiving our order (maybe 5 minutes after paying at the register). The parking lot is in serious need of an upgrade; but we will definitely become patrons of this new-found bbq spot near OU Med Center.

No question was one best BBQ places. The staff was super helpful and the prices were pretty darn good. Tried all of the meats. Loved the greens. Baked beans better than slaw.
